Senior Backend Engineer, Ledger

The ledger is the part of Meridian that cannot be wrong. It records every movement of money through a marketplace and has to reconcile to the cent against a dozen payment providers that each disagree about what a settlement is.

You would work on the double-entry core, the reconciliation engine, and the replay tooling we use when a provider restates history on us.

A good fit has worked somewhere correctness was non-negotiable — payments, accounting, clearing, exchange infrastructure — and reaches for a property test before a unit test. We write mostly Kotlin and Go against Postgres.

We are hybrid: two days a week in the London office, the rest wherever you like.

Payments infrastructure for marketplaces: ledgers, payouts, and reconciliation that survive an audit. Correctness is the product, so we hire people who like invariants.
