Staff Platform Engineer

Kilnworks is an internal developer platform that teams install rather than adopt. You would be the fourth engineer on the platform core, working on the layer between our paved road and the Kubernetes underneath it.

The problems are mostly about seams: how a team drops out of the paved road for one service without forking the whole platform, how upgrades roll out to clusters we do not operate, and how we keep the abstraction honest about what it is hiding.

We are looking for someone who has operated Kubernetes in anger and has opinions about where its abstractions leak, plus enough Go to be productive in a large codebase from week one.

This is a staff role: the expectation is technical direction and written design work, not people management.
